Technical Inspection

The guaranties in Decennial Building Damage Insurance are subject to technical checks on the project, the construction process, and materials testing, as performed by a Technical Inspection Organization (TIO). The services of the TIO are hired by the policyholder and must be accepted by the insurance company.

The TIO seeks to reduce risk through risk standardization and prevention programs. The TIO works closely with project and construction teams to avoid having to tap technical reserves, thus allowing the client to enjoy the full range of signed guaranties. It will also submit the reports as required by HCC Europe to run its overall risk assessment.
